Sheet Metal Fabricator

The Sheet Metal Fabricator Operates fabricating machines: such as cutoff saws, shears, hydraulic brake presses, manual pan and box brake, band saws, cut, shapes, and bend aluminum sheets, layout flat patterns from drawings and fabricates per tolerance allowance. Use of hand tools and pneumatic blind riveters.
This position pays $17 - $28 an hour depending on experience.
The hours for this position is 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday through Friday.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reads Job Specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
- Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template
- Positions work piece against stops or align layout marks with die or blade
- Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction
- Measures workpiece dimensions to determine the accuracy of machine operation
- Removes burrs, sharp edges
- Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces
Qualifications:
- One to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Regularly performs tasks that will require heavy lifting, carrying and moving materials weighing 50 – 100 lbs. or more off the ground, up and overhead
- This is a non-CNC position. Hand fabrication and layout skills are required
